Crusoe Named Developer of Google's Wind-Powered AI Campus Near Amarillo
Crusoe confirmed it is developing the Google AI data center campus now under construction in Armstrong County, Texas, outside Amarillo. Ground broke in June 2025. The site connects directly to the adjacent 265.5 MW Goodnight 1 wind farm, which is running, and Goodnight 2, a second 265.5 MW wind farm now being built. The campus uses closed-loop liquid cooling.

What It Means
This campus starts with the energy and builds the data center around it. A direct tie to two wind farms, with surplus power sent back to the grid, makes power integration and controls the core of the project, not a utility hookup at the end. Delivery teams have to coordinate generation, cooling and IT load on one schedule. Expect more AI campuses to be sited this way across West Texas.
