Stafford County Approves Accokeek Center Data Center Campus and Substation
Supervisors in Stafford County, Virginia approved Falmouth Tech LLC's Accokeek Center on split 4-3 votes. The plan covers two data center buildings totaling up to 590,000 sq ft and a new electrical substation on about 121 acres between I-95 and Richmond Highway. The site still needs site plan and utility approvals.

What It Means
This project shows how much of a data center approval now depends on the power side. The substation needed its own permit, and the transmission route is still open. Reduced setbacks bring tighter rules on buffers, tree preservation and noise.
